Michael J. Hume

Michael is the moderator for RTC’s Tuesday Talks. He has directed Heisenberg, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Tiny Beautiful Things for RTC. Locally, he has directed productions at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Southern Oregon University, Ashland High School, Oregon Cabaret Theater, and the Ashland New Plays Festival. Michael has also directed at Capital Rep, Palace Theater, Lexington Conservatory, Liberty State Company, among others. He is a member of the Society of Directors and Choreographers. As an actor, Michael has been at OSF for 28 seasons. He has performed at the American Conservatory Theatre, Portland Center Stage, Seattle Rep, South Coast Rep, Kennedy Center, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Hartford Stage, Guthrie Theatre, and The Manhattan Theatre Club, among others. With his writing partners Jahnna Beecham and Malcolm Hillgartner, Michael wrote Dog Park and They Came From Way Out There! (OCT, Milwaukee Rep, Artists Rep) Allie Kazan and the Magic Mansion and an Irish Christmas musical, Parcel From America, which opened in Dublin in 2022 with a full Irish cast and music ensemble. www.parcelfromamericamusical.com
