Launched in 2019, Rogue Theater Company presents theater that evokes, entertains, and enlivens the human spirit. In a collaborative environment — from Oregon Shakespeare Festival's artists past and present, to the vast pool of extraordinary talent throughout the Valley — our vision is to provoke dialogue, encourage empathy, and inspire curiosity. RTC is also dedicated to giving back to the community, and each opening benefits a local non-profits. Planned Parenthood SW Oregon, the Maslow Project, Community Works, the Almeda Fire Relief efforts, Resolve Center for Dispute Resolution and Restorative Justice, Southern Oregon Coalition for Racial Equity, and Project De La Raíz have been recipients thus far. In our 2022 season, we will support the Ashland Food Project, FOTAS (Friends of the Animal Shelter), and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children). We offer complimentary and discount tickets to the staff, board, and volunteers of these organizations.
Theater plays a crucial role in creating a better society. In the experience of theater, we witness difference, recognize commonalities, and learn empathy. Theater has the capacity to feel personal and intimate — to create palpable emotional connections between the performers and audience members in real-time. RTC is committed to bringing art to life by exciting the hearts and minds of our audiences. As one of Lily Tomlin’s characters says, “We go to the theater to get a goose bump experience”. We hope this is your experience after seeing one of our productions. Lights up!
